Atwood 2008 Format & Rules of Play

 

Format:

 

2 Man Better Ball (Friday AM)- Handicapped – Each player in twosome plays his own ball. Mark both players scores on scorecard; there is an individual skins game during this round. The best net score is used for match against other team. Winning team receives 2 points, Halved match- each team receives 1 point.                                       (WHITE TEES - MATCH PLAY - PUTT GAME)

 

4 Man Scramble (Friday PM) – Each player tees, pick best shot and all hit from there. Continue until ball is holed. Mark one score for team. No drive restrictions.

1st Place Team – 7 points       2nd – 4 points              3rd – 3 points               4th – 1 point

4 Man Shamble (Saturday AM)- Handicapped – Each player hits a drive. The best drive is chosen and each player plays his own ball in from there. Exception: Play your own ball on Par 3 holes. The 2 best net scores for the team are used for the team total score.

2 Man Scramble (Saturday PM) – Same as 4 man above except played match play against other team in foursome. Winning team receives 2 points, Halved Match – each team receives 1 point.

Heads Up (Sunday) – Play own ball match play against opponent. Winner receives 2points and Halved match – each team receives 1 point.

Rules of Play:

 

  • Winter rules (6” with club head) throughout - excluding bushes, red staked & hazard areas.
  • No loss of distance on out of bounds shots. Drop in line of entry.
  • Conceding putts is allowed.
  • Do not change cut of grass when dropping balls during scrambles.
  • Be on time. The schedule is designed for an easy flow into second rounds on Friday & Saturday, so if the order is changed it screws things up.

 

Prizes:

                 

-        Payouts are on second page. All skin games are handicapped at ½ value. All matches are handicapped at full value.

-        Pin shot pot is split between the number of pin shots that day including any shots    

                        within the flag stick which are worth double.

Important: Remember while matches above are Match Play Format the  prize money and skins are distributed based on best net rounds of entire group. Don’t give up!
