Who We Are

The Cochise Chapter, American Society of Military Comptrollers (ASMC), based at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, is a chartered member of the National ASMC organization. We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to furthering our members' professional development and advancing resource management in the Department of Defense and the local community.

We currently have about 130 members, comprised of civilian, military, contractor, and retired folks who work in resource management or related disciplines—accounting, budgeting, cost analysis, manpower and force management, auditing, management analysis, contracting, and information management.

Quarterly luncheons in the Fort Huachuca area offer the opportunity to meet with other people on post and in the community working resource and information management issues. The luncheons include a guest speaker whose topic is related to the association's field of interest. Speakers in the last few years have included the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Financial Management, the Army Budget Office's Director of Operations Support, the Forces Command's Deputy Resource Manager, and the University of Arizona's nationally recognized woman's softball coach.

We periodically offer one-day professional development seminars where we bring in recognized experts to discuss management, personnel, health, and resource management or related topics.

The Cochise Chapter sponsors scholarships at Cochise College and the University of Arizona, Sierra Vista Campus. These scholarships are offered to students pursuing education in business related fields.

The Chapter recognizes a Student of the Year from a local high school and invites that student to speak at our monthly luncheons. The Student of the Year receives a $100 savings bond.

Professional development is encouraged through providing scholarships to our members, the opportunity to attend monthly luncheons and seminars, and the annual national Professional Development Seminar hosted by major ASMC chapters across the United States.
