WICHITA SOCIETY FOR NEUROSCIENCE
11th Annual Meeting Minutes
November 15, 2001
Dr. Hassan called the meeting to order with 17 members attending.
Minutes of the 2000 Annual Meeting were distributed and approved. The Treasurer’s report was presented by Dr. Hassan and approved. (Secretary-Treasurer Dr. Hana Razek was unable to attend the meeting)
The following Board members have completed their term of office (Nov 1998-Nov 2001):
Drs. Richard Ahlstrand, Leonard Klafta, and Subhash Shah
The following were nominated and elected to serve on the Board of Directors from Nov 2001 through Nov 2004:
Drs. Michael Burke, Kore Liow, and Norman Pay
Dr. Hassan gave a report on the creation of the WSN web site and its links to the National Society for Neuroscience and other related sites.
Dr. Hassan also welcomed new members Drs. Lyle Baade, Raymond Grundmeyer, Mubashir Khan, and Kore Liow.
Dr. Andrew Massey reported on the Tuesday morning conferences and is looking for feedback on the use of KU Med. Center as the location for these conferences. In addition, a summary list was provided of all conferences for 2001. (This list is also on the web site under "EVENTS")
New officers being installed this year were Dr. Andrew Massey – President, and Dr. Ty Schwertfeger – Vice-President. Dr. Hana Razek continues to serve as Secretary-Treasurer.
After receiving the gavel Dr. Massey presented Dr. Hassan with a plaque recognizing his service as President for the past two years.
