James Henderson  - Recollections Then / Now

I guess I should put this recollection in before one of my fellow crew members  tells it on me. You all remember Im sure the rule about not drinking 12 hrs. prior to going on duty. Here it was New Years Eve 1964. Our crew had the duty  on New Years Day. I asked for and was given permission to have another MMT take my shift so  Elaine and I could attend a party. My friend C.D. Romans  agreed to fill in for me. I want to make it clear right now. I had nothing to do with that BLIZZARD that hit the Spokane area  that Jan.1 1965!!!!!! You all know good and well  I would never  have wanted  my crew or any other crew snowbound like that.  You know what the real sad part of this story is? After spending all that time on duty for me, I never could repay Romans. He was the EWO qualified NCO on his crew and I could not fill in for him. I understand Romans has not been located. He might be still mad at me!
