Photo: New Orleans - July 21, 2001. I attended the Romance Writers of America awards at the organization's national conference. The Rita Awards honor published authors, and the Golden Hearts pay tribute to unpublished authors with completed manuscripts.

Reading is my first love. Writing comes in a close second. I've been making up stories for as long as I can remember. Trouble is, I've never quite found the time to get all my ideas on paper (or hard drive).

Twence: outdated, passé - from "twentieth century"
Venticipation: That long moment between the time you press the button on the vending machine and your soda or candy bar actually falls into the little drawer.... or not
Artistify: To use the tools in Photoshop to manipulate a photograph so it looks like it was drawn or painted.
