Welcome! My name is Alicia Vidaurreta and I had the priviledge to work for National Airlines during the last few years of its existance.

My National Airlines ID
My mom boarding a NAL flight in Havana in the late 1940's. The flight operated Havana-Tampa-Washington DC-Newark.

Was this any way to run an airline???

You bet it was!!!

But in the New Orleans Reservations office there was a joie de vivre that only those who worked there can understand!

And when the merger with PanAm was a fact and there was no longer a National Airlines, nobody mourned its demise like the New Orleans people did!!!

I worked many years with PanAm and made many friends and travelled the world, but I never recaptured the joie de vivre that working for National Airlines in New Orleans offered. This page is for you, my friends, who share my memories and my orange blood!

THAT WAS THEN.....THIS IS NOW
