I could've kissed you all night
but something didn't feel right
I was looking for more
than just a good time

I saw something in your eyes
it took me by surprise
I really felt like your heart
was maybe calling out to mine

do you remember our first date
all that food that we ate
could you feel how we fit together
when we finally did get to sleep

was it will, was it fate
maybe something in that date
the kiss or the hug
or was it just simply love

did it hurt you, to hurt me
to lie and turn away
did you miss me in the morning
at least after the first day

didn't I make you happy
didn't I try my best
didn't you feel anything
besides my head upon your chest

So amazed by big city lights
feeling some sense of being
while driving in at night
The cities heart pounds in your ears
drive faster, drive faster, no fears
chills trickle up and down your spine
like some kind of sign you are home
The city's heart beats louder
then you feel smarter, sharper, less alone
"Be careful!"
Mothers words ring in your ears
along with the pounding of the cities heart
Drive Faster, Be careful, No Fears...

behind it and held me closer than anyone s ever held me

Temptation knocks on everyone's door

I want to buy a little beach house
some where off the coast of no where
I want to find a place half deserted
with a blue sky and clean air
I want to give up my shoes and cell phone
I want to walk barefooted in the sand
I want to get away from it all
but I want you there to hold my hand
Would you run away with me
live off love with me
divide chores
or swim all day
We could have a normal life
I want to stare up at the stars at night
I want to let my hair grow out long
I want to drive an old beat up truck
I want to create a world where there is no wrong
I want to run naked through the sand
bathe in the ocean

I grew up thinking that I was a freak. So, I packed up my things and I moved to the big city. Now, I'm just one of them.

When you don't have to say it and you know something is there...then you know you've found it...
