Tips & Hints
This block is a 10" block. (That is - 10 1/2" unfinished.) Use red fabrics with very little or no white for the best contrast. Try to make your blocks as "scrappy" as possible. All the squares are 2 1/2" unfinished and may be rotary cut. The easiest way to piece the block is to sew the five squares for each row together first. Press the seams toward the red fabric. Where two white-on-white fabrics are joined, press so that when the next row is joined, the seams will go in opposite directions. Continue to sew squares to make blocks and to join one row to the next, following the example for the color placement. If you have questions or comments, post a note to the bulletin board or email Squirrel or Azpatch. Blocks will be due by the end of January. Please email Squirrel if you need her address.
