ARIZONA SONSHINE HOME EDUCATORS' POLICIES AND INFORMATION

I Timothy 1:5 "But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith." NASB

II Peter 1:5-7 "Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love." NASB

bulletASHE’s Doctrinal Position: We believe that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, are One and, yet, three equal individual members with whom we can have a personal relationship through Jesus Christ:

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." NASB

I Corinthians 15:3-4 "…Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the scriptures." NASB

Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast." NASB

bulletArizona Sonshine Home Educators is not denominationally affiliated. Members do not have to believe our doctrinal position, but they may not teach against item #1 (i.e.: the trinity, the resurrection, and salvation through grace not works) within group functions.

bulletArizona Sonshine Home Educators limits our membership to 25 families.

bulletWe will extend a 30-day trial period for those wishing to find out more about ASHE before actually becoming a member. For membership we require:

1) a membership form be completed and signed;

2) a. a commitment to help out in some area (i.e. plan or help plan a ministry project and field trip, help with PE, help with the yearbook, set up a family fellowship get-together, etc.) AND $10 dues OR  b. $20 dues if you wish to receive the ASHE calendar and participate in events, but do not wish to commit to planning or helping out in any way;

3) a parent or appointed responsible adult be present at all ASHE activities in which your children are involved.

bulletRealizing that each of us has a unique giftedness, it is our desire that everyone involved in ASHE bear one another’s burdens by using their unique gifts from the Lord in an area where they may serve the group (if they've signed up in 2.a. above).  Anyone is welcome to set up as many activities as they desire.   It is our goal to plan at least one field trip and one ministry/service event per month during the traditional nine-month school calendar. We will have one planning meeting each August and a business meeting in January if needed.

bulletOur field trip and service/ministry events are open to friends and family as space permits. If attendance is limited, members will have first options (only with a timely RSVP), and non-members acceptance will be based upon timeliness of their RSVP and numbers attending.

bulletWe will publish a monthly calendar of events via email (or snail mail if you do not have email).  All members coordinating or helping to coordinate field trips/ministry projects are responsible to get information out to the group either through the calendar coordinator, if in a timely manner, or through other means (email, phone, etc.) if it is past the calendar submission date.

bulletASHE volunteers run our PE program. Our PE is not designed as a drop off program; for safety and liability reasons parents need to be on-site. Non-ASHE members may join our PE program (at the discretion of the PE committee) and are expected to sign-up and help the committee as needed if they plan on attending for more than a month.  Participation in P.E. is at the discretion of each family involved.  ASHE members will not be responsible for any injuries that occur on-site.

bulletOur mailing list/prayer chain may not be used for solicitations, or any other use without the consent of each family involved.

bulletIf a situation arises among the children, please address your concerns to the parents of the children involved using a Biblical model.

bulletWe function on a consensus basis. The Coordinator(s) will administrate the desires of the group, to be available to assist or direct any family as needed, and to be the contact person for ASHE homeschooling families who have questions, comments or suggestions.  They will also be the the contact person for those outside our group with interest in Arizona Sunshine Home Educators. The Meeting Facilitator will direct all ASHE meetings. The Calendar/Directory Person will publish the monthly calendar of ASHE events, the ASHE directory of members, and the directory of field trip/ministry project organizers. The PE Coordinator will handle coordinating PE activities.  The Yearbook Editor will coordinate the making of our yearbook.

We communicate events and other items of interest about ASHE via email (and snail mail or phone if you do not have an email address).  You MUST fill out and sign a membership form, as well as agree to abide by our membership guidelines as stated above in #4, in order to be included in our directory, to receive the calendar of events, and to be considered a member of our group.
