THE CZ PROJECT

At this point I had collected a few things but more is needed. It had had a few things checked for fit but not really started on just yet.

I am not doing a restoration. I did acquire an original style exhaust, headlight assembly, speedo and switches.

Also located was a steel coffin tank and some Falta airshocks. To finish off the basics a set of MX fenders.

Even if all the street equipment is installed the first thought is to just get it back to the trails. I’m not that interested in street riding at this time.

I was looking for ideas for a tail light for a while. I didn't want an original type, too much hanging out with too many edges. I also will need to hang a motorcycle size "title" plate due to Arizona laws. Finally settled on a Enduro fender with integral tail light. Also picked up a MX rear fender to fix if I decide to run without any lights from time to time.

Making progress now. Most of the items stripped and painted.

Finally into the rolling stage. Engine tear down time now.

Engine torn down, cleaned and bagged, ready to go. There is a good chance to mess things up so all part are cleaned and assembled back into their assemblies before I forget the placement.

Everything went together well. There was a couple of real interesting mechanisms. The starter caused the most trouble getting three washers into the right placement.

It runs!

The plastic rear enduro fender with taillight was replaced with a MX piece.

I can't decide yet how to control the lighting voltage so I decided to leave the enduro parts off until I can do some load tests. The electrical system was the one bad part of the bike since it was new. The intent is the electrical system will be reliable for a change.
