Author: Sherry Eldridge

The following are a few of the herbal potpourris recipes that can be found in The New Age Herbalist:

From The New Age Herbalist, "You start by drying the leaves an dflowers in single layers on a piece of muslin stretched over a frame." (My note: any frame that allows circulation will work nicely) "Keep each batch to one type of flower or leaf, as drying times vary. Keep the frames in a warm, dry place out of the sun. When they are dry and crisp, put the ingredients in jars with tight fitting lids. Over each layer (1 in/2.5 cm deep) of plant material sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of coarse salt and 1/2 teaspoon of orris root powder. Screw on the lids, label, and store in the dark for three weeks.
