It was announced on January 10, 2002, that the American
Airpower Museum at Farmingdale, New York, would purchase Fuddy Duddy for
$2.5 million. The deal with the Farmingdale museum will allow the
National Warplane Museum to reopen its doors in April 2002. Part of the
deal will result in an alliance between the two museums that will allow
Fuddy Duddy to return on occasion for display and airshows at Elmira, the
site of the National Warplane Museum.
