44-83542 rolled of the Douglas Long Beach assembly line and was accepted by the Army Air Force on 03 April 1945. It was immediately flown to South Plains, Texas and put in storage. Six weeks later it was flown to Patterson Field, Ohio and put in storage again and was declared to be surplus on 15 October 1945.
