Thank you to Felipe Carvalho for sending a current picture of 44-85583. From these pictures it appears that it is being kept in good shape, however it would be nice to see it put inside a museum to protect it from the weather.

Finally some news from Brazil on the B-17G at Base Aérea do Recife. I have been waiting a long time to find out if this B-17 was on display or in storage down there. I would like to graciously thank a reader of my page, Afonso Pires Archilla, for sending me some pictures of 44-85583. Afonso says these pictures were taken in 1989, but 44-85583 is still on static display at the entrance of Base Aérea do Recife.
