This Lady Justice statue dates back to Roman and Greek times, represented as Themis, the goddess of justice and law. Well known for her clear sightedness, she typically holds a sword in one hand and scales in the other.

During the 16th century, artists started showing the lady blindfolded to show that justice is not subject to influence.

Or, that justice today is indeed blind, meaning that only injustice exists under an oligarchy.

Supreme Law of the Land

Anywhere within the United States, what is the Supreme Law of the Land?

This is the law that cannot be overruled or contradicted by any other law. All other laws must first meet the simple test of the Supreme Law. Some would say it is God’s Law, and this is partly true, indirectly. But everyone does not believe in God, unfortunately; God’s Law is not the Supreme Law of the United States among the living.

This Supreme Law cannot be changed by a simple majority vote, but requires the more stringent two-thirds majority; very difficult on purpose, because the whole idea being that it is not supposed to be changed much, or on a whim.

If you cannot answer this simple question, cannot be certain of the answer, then you have not read the United States Constitution, you cannot claim to be part of the most important body of Americans called the “self-governed.” In fact, you deserve to be ruled over by Lords and Kings, like a serf or slave, and told what to do, when, where and how much.

Either this is a self-governing nation, “by the people, for the people,” or it isn’t. At this point in time, it isn’t, because of the lethargy of the masses. We would rather sit in front of a tube in our easy chair and be told by the controlled and “programmed” media “what the situation is now,” rather than finding for ourselves the real truth, knowledge, and worth of our situation. We deny and flee from our very intended purpose.

Just keep listening to the news, where new evidence is old news, retractions are ignored, contradictions merely confirm convictions, and even an outright admission of a false claim is dismissed as spin! Turn it off and do some good, fulfill your life’s mission and purpose, experience real joy. TV entertainment is overrated, mostly a lie, and unconnected, definitely transient and overall useless to your well-being. The media makes facts irrelevant.

The media only confuses us. All brains operate with equal rigidity, are equally biased, equally irrational, equally myopic, equally stuck in mental grooves permitting no compromise. We are all designed to interpret, enhance, delete, bounce, reinterpret, recode, recycle and otherwise manipulate incoming facts, data, information, images and ideas to fit our own preconceived beliefs. We just need to turn the TV off, gain a little real knowledge, and check our belief system, if it agrees with reality, or if we’re living a reality based on impertinent “facts.”

If you will read the U.S. Constitution, for example, it will completely change your beliefs about

  1. how much power the federal government really has, or rather, is supposed to have
  2. It will resolve all conflict about war
  3. It will resolve all conflict about federal jurisdiction (where they can operate), and
  4. It will resolve all conflict about their authority.

You are about to be awakened, completely surprised, at how different things are than they seem, as reported by the media. Then you will investigate further; what else are we missing? Will you still pick and choose “facts” that fit your hardwired belief system? Yes, but less so, when you are more aware, unlike your old media-based and “pre-programmed” robot system.

Need more information; don’t believe me?

Rigid mindsets. Last year psychologists in Australia and America tested people's memories about Iraq War reports that were later retracted because they were false. The researchers discovered that people tend to continue believing bad information even when later news reports prove the reports are clearly false.

Tunnel vision. A group of neuroscientists at Harvard instructed a test audience to focus on players dribbling on a basketball court and count the number of times the ball was passed within one minute. Fifty percent of the people totally failed to see that during the middle of the test session a man in a gorilla suit walked through the middle of the dribblers, faced the audience, thumped his chest and left.

Researchers have discovered that instead of thinking rationally to resolve inconsistencies, our brains actually turn off our rational thinking, ignore contradictions and trust our beliefs, biases and prejudices to resolve a conflict. Faith beats rationality.

You just need to do a few mind stretches

Now for some good news. Your brain is "reprogrammable!" But (and here's the catch) reprogramming takes some work. You may need to spend less time watching TV and more time challenging your brain with new things, like juggling, dancing, puzzles, ping pong or other sport, or learning how to play a musical instrument or speak a new language.

I’m already doing too much juggling at work, right? Gotcha.
