Glisten Customs
Note those wacky native ways that the PC's can run afoul of.

There are 6 customs which are followed throughout the belt. Orbital settlements may also develop local customs.
Closed meeting taboo/Scientific figures. All meetings of more than 3 scientists must be scheduled to allow attendance by a Government and Citizens monitor. Triggered by the scandal of '02.
One class eats other's leftovers/All population. The custom of eating others leftovers. The youngest family member will eat followed by each ranking family member using the same plate and simply adding more food. It has become custom for all guests in a home to eat first followed by members of the house. The head of the house is expected to clean the plate. This came about during the famines of the Second Frontier War.
Live only in certain terrain/Convicted criminals. A system of penal asteroids was instituted in the early 800's. These facilities are patrolled by the Glisten colonial navy.
Shaved heads for/ Academic figures. Most teachers and professors of either sex shave their heads.
Psionics means instant death/All population. The population is extremely psioniphobic. Racial Zhodani risk physical violence from the normally friendly locals. The Zhodani Embassy is the site of near continuos protests.
Unusual significance of computers/High social class.  Many Nobles and Industrial leaders began direct linking to expert computer systems in the early 1000's in order to perform their duties more efficiently. Present systems may have subdural links so the user can remain linked 24 hours a day.
