It's been a great summer so far!  We have really enjoyed our pool when it hasn't been storming!  Morgan and a group of friends have been taking swimming lessons together in our pool.  Mallory joins us for the fun but not the lessons.  I think we will have to start her next year though!  She LOVES the water.

Morgan had a follow up with Shriner's Hospital this month.  She will be facing surgery number 10 in the next few months.  They plan to do a distal tibial external rotational osteotomy, anterior tibial tendon transfer and posterior tibial lengthening.  Basically they are going to break the bone of her lower right leg to correct her internal rotation as well as redistribute her tendon to prevent the foot from turning under.  We are on the surgical list and they will notify us of the date soon.  Morgan also attended vacation bible school for the first time.  She really enjoyed it.  We gave her some earplugs and she handled being in the sanctuary with a loud crowd.  She LOVED being in there learning the songs.  She is really looking forward to preschool next month.  She misses all of her friends.

Mallory is actually attempting to walk!  After MONTHS of showing no interest, she will take some steps.  She will walk an entire room if she is distracted but once she realizes what she is doing, she drops to her knees.  She is also enjoying trying new foods.  This is a new experience for all of us.  Morgan never had interest in food but FORGET about eating in front of Mallory and not sharing.  She will protest immediately.  Currently her favorites are bologna, ham, bacon, cheese, pasta with red sauce, green beans and ANYTHING chocolate.  Notice the absence of fruit?  We are still trying!!
