Purchasing Photos - If you were on a hike and didn't get pictures, or just want some pictures from the archive, you can buy printed copies that will be mailed to you.

  1. To select photos, go to the thumbnail page (the one with all the pictures on one page) and click the boxes (between the photo and the word "Select") next to the pictures you want, then click the "Add To Cart" button at the top of the page. Don't worry about accidentally purchasing something - you don't buy anything until several steps later after entering credit credit card info and clicking "Purchase" (Step 5 below). Once you have selected the pictures you want from one album, you can select pictures from other albums - you selections will "follow you around" that is, the photos selected earlier will stay in the "shopping cart" and collect into one large order.
  2. On the next page, select the size and quantity of the photos you want, this page shows the prices and printing options available. Select the quantity and sizes you want - Don't forget "glossy" or "matte" on the upper left. Click the "Continue" button at the top.
  3. This page has more printing options and a total price - not including shipping. Click "Continue".
  4. Put in your shipping address info and shipping method. Still no commitment to purchase here! You'll just get the total including shipping. Also notice that the address line at the top of the browser says "https://...... the "s" after http means the transaction information is now "Secure" and ENCRYPTED for privacy. There is also a picture of a yellow lock in the lower Right corner of your browser - this also means a secure link to the website. Click the "Total" button.
  5. This next page shows the total amount ($5 minimum purchase - not including shipping, which seems to be a minimum of about $1.95 for standard shipping) and the shipping info - if this is acceptable enter your credit card info, this is the part where you are actually going to agree to spend money :-) click "Purchase".

Saving and Printing Info - To save a photo from the album:

  1. Click the "Right" mouse button on the photo you want and the "Left" button on "Save Picture As...".
  2. Choose the file name and directory where you want to save it. You will save the same size copy of the photo you are selecting, so, if you are in the thumbnail page (the first one that shows all of the pictures at once), you'll get a small photo - double click on the thumbnail to see a single, screen size photo - if you save that you'll get a nice size printable photo, finally, click on that and you'll see a full size, unaltered original. This is the best quality for printing although you'll probably have to re-size it smaller to print it properly.

The Backcountry Hiking Club does NOT make money from visitors purchasing photos or products. The service is provided by printroom.com and can be used by anyone by visiting their website at www.printroom.com.
