This is your Military Fencing Web Site.  As the webmaster, I will be working with LtCol Don Scott and CDR Runyan and Capt Hurwitz to bring a wider dissemination to military fencing via the World Wide Web.  If you have any suggestions please feel free to email me.  I would like to make sure and get as much news about military fencers and their successes.  If you have information you would like to see posted here, or a web link to your club or just pictures of military fencers, please feel free to drop me an email.

SIXTH ANNUAL U.S. MILITARY CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT

On November 16, 2003 military fencers from across the country came to San Diego’s Naval Air Station, North Island for the Sixth Annual Military Fencing Championship.  Amidst the backdrop of the San Diego Bay and the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz, a spirited competition was held.

The largest contingent of competitors came from the Air Force Academy and West Point, both of which have robust collegiate fencing programs.  Air Force is a consistent NCAA power and West Point is one of the country’s strongest collegiate club teams.  Added to the mix were active duty and reserve fencers from the Navy, Marines, and Army.

The military championship was started by the Air Force Academy and hosted by them for its first three years.  Last season West Point hosted the event in New York state.  This season the Navy brought the event to the west coast, thanks to Naval Air Station, North Island and support from the San Diego Division of the USFA.
