CISM NEWS

Here is the official word from Marine Sports.  Reserves and National Guard will have to be on active duty during competition time to compete.   Academy cadets may be allowed on a case by case basis.

The United States is not sending any fencers to the 2003 World Military Games in Catania Sicily, 4-16 Dec 2003 (originally in September).  Due to the selection criteria (Nationally Ranked or an "A" rating), we were extremely limited in the number of fencers we could even consider.  Additionally, most of our qualified fencers couldn't participate since they had previous commitments.  By the middle of October, we had only one fencer left who could participate.  We decided it wasn't worth it to send an individual fencer to a team competition

MILITARY FENCING TO APPEAR IN USFA MAGAZINE?

If anyone has some strings they can pull, it would be a big help and boost to the military fencing effort if an ad could be placed in the USFA Magazine.  At the very least, it could get us some publicity, and allow other military fencers to know there is an effort to build the community.
