Vern's baja from Oregon

Vern's dad picked up this '69 VW without a motor for $400. He then bought a super with two engines and several parts for more. With that they had what they needed to get to work. No since in messing around, so they spent several late nights after work and put this car together.

Here the fenders have been removed and the front partially cut for the one piece front end.

Here you can see how they are mounting the front fenders on the rear. With a little trimming they work perfectly as rear baja fenders.

This is what they look like after trimming.

Here the front end has been completely cut. Vern also built the front bumper and light mounts. He used 1.5in. x 1.5in x .120 square tubing to get the job done.

Now it's nearly complete. The front end is on and the rear bumper is built. The front end has been cut and turned 1/4in. and the rear is raised 2 splines. The rear tires are 30 x 9.50's. Vern is stiil working on getting the new wheels and tires for the front.

The paints going on and it looks pretty good!

Vern's tryin' it out.
