Here's a site no-one likes to see
Wayne says that off-roading is limited in England. Every time he tries the cops bust him.
As you can see by the right photo Wayne's been having a little trouble with parts over there. He wrote a little tune about his woes, check it out.
Here's where you can see more of Wayne's World

Scott lives in Brisbane. He says it's a very tropical region with lots of beaches and islands to off-road on. The beaches have several trails and large sand dunes to explore. Inland you will find mountains with rain forests and beyond that the Australian bush country. This area is hot, dry, sparsely populated desert that you don't explore unless you're well equipped and go with a caravan. He's new to the world of bajas, but says he loves it. His car is a '59 with a 1600dp and coil over shocks. He paid $650 Aus.(approx $400 US) for it. He says it's not real pretty, but it's a good place to start.

Wesley's baja is powered by a 1915cc runninig 044 heads with 1.25 ratio rockers, dual weber 44 carbs and electronic ignition. To find out more about his car check out his web site.
Wes belongs to Klub VW Offroad in Toowoomba Australia. Be sure to checkout their site, it has many good stories and pics. They also have lots of different buggies and they are not affraid to use them.
Wes is no longer running the 1915. He has made some hot upgrades to his car. Head over to his site to check them out.
Yes I know it's not offroading, but I think its a neat example of an overseas baja

It's a 1965 baja with a 1600cc engine with 4 into 1 header, leather seats and front and rear cages (bumpers). Kev says it's a good solid car.

Check out Fabricios page to see more of his car.

Paul's baja has 1600 subaru water-cooled engine that is good for 75 hp, trans-axle from a bus 1600, suspension of a181 thing and the tires are 30/9.5 rear and 195/75/15 at front.
It's always great to get pics from far of places. Notice the bajas and buggies in the background. It looks like the guys are having a great day.

Gidday this is "Betty" a purpose built beach weapon. 1962 beetle,1600cc twin port thats been ported and polished by myself, also repainted, lifted front and rear, tyres are 215 75 15 front and 235 70 15 rear. The interior is timber paneled, with bucket seats covered in aussie lamswool for comfort thru the rough stuff.
This baja has been put thru some of the harshest sand and mud tracks I could find. Fraser Island in Queensland is one of Australia's premier 4wd ing areas so it was essential to prove that 40yr old german engineering with some minor modifications was up to the challenge.Only drama's was a broken gearbox mount ,it was drilled thru and made into a semi solid mount ,does the job dispite a little cabin noise.
My girl (Caitlin) and my mates and I can be found hitting the 70 mile beach
north of Noosa Heads in search of the perfect wave.
Safe driving all.

The Dog-O-War is a no frills, all thrills 71 model TP1600.

Hi!
My Baja is on the road (or should I say gravel track)
at last! Yours looks like a good site through which to
share the good news with the world. :-)
We took these pics, of the beastie, on a trip down the coast last weekend. I've also included a short article on it that I wrote for our local Beetle club newsletter.

Take a look at Lee's page

I'm from Australia and it is a 62 swing axle, K&L front end soon to be cut and turned and with a disc brake front end, 1500sp stock engine and a very distinctive paint job! I am already planning it's successor which will be stronger, faster, tougher and better. These photos are from Stradbroke Island and Fraser Island, you may notice in one of them you can see Wes' baja ,which you have photo's of on your site, which has recently undergone a 200hp V6 conversion!
This is a lineup from an outing with one of the Austrailian VW clubs. Lee's baja is on the far end and that's wes's V-6 powered baja on the near end.
You can see more Wes's car on his site.
