This is what you may end up doing if you ever break down alone in the middle of nowhere. We only took one vehicle on this trip into the mountains. I hit something a little to hard and bent the tie rod. This really isn't as bad as it seems because we could have kept driving on it if we had to. But it was bent quite badly so we decided to try and straighten it out. After a few minutes we had it off and by placing it between the beams and pulling a little here and there we succeeded. After putting it back together we continued with no further incidents.
I highly recommend reinforcing your tie-rods and pitman arms as one of the first things you do to your baja.
I strongly do not recommend going off-roading with only one vehicle. Especially not in the desert heat of the Southwest.
