The background for this artwork was created with silver foil covered with crushed tissue paper on which acrylic inks are mingled .  When dry, the dragonfly was sketched with pen and black ink. A line from Elizabeth Barrett Browning's poem was hand lettered using a steel nib and purple acrylic ink. Acrylic spray fixes the pigments and enhances the shine of the foil throughout the piece.

Copperplate calligraphy on acrylic "paste paper" background

The background for this artwork was done with a technique learned from Betty Welsh, FWA. First, 140# Arches watercolor paper surface was primed with gel medium, then layers and textures of acrylic paint were applied.

Finally, the quotation was hand letteredusing a steel nib and white acrylic ink.

The background for this artwork was created on gold matboard covered with crushed tissue paper on which acrylic inks are mingled .  A center part of the tissue was removed to reveal the smooth gold surface, and a quote from American Author Faith Baldwin  was hand lettered using a steel nib and gouche pigment.

using gold foil covered with crushed tissue paper on which acrylic inks are mingled .  The symbol for Prosperity was painted with gold acrylic, and Prosperity was letteredusing a steel nib and acrylic ink. Acrylic spray fixes the pigments and enhances the shine of the foil throughout  the piece.
