This piece is a watercolor weaving that gives the subject a semi-abstract and more dynamic feel than a flat painting. Watercolor strips are woven and glued on the mat board.
The technique was inspired by the beautiful watercolor weavings of artist Nancy Maas.
The American Flag displayed from the front porch of many homes in downtown Ocala.
The lush tropical foliage surrounding the home creates a backdrop for the flag.
A white ibis "gone fishin'" in the shallows.
The view of Orange Lake near the boat ramp at Cross Creek. The rural home of writer Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings is adjacent to the park.
This group of palms reaches high into the sky just up the road from the historic Evinston Post Office and General Store.
This picturesque home stands along Cholokka Blvd in historic Micanopy, Florida.
The inspiration for this watercolor was a little garden pagoda that stands in a neighbor's garden in Florida. I decided to paint the tropical foliage with bold, unusual colors. A small lizard pauses at the edge of a deep shadow.
This old barn stands on the Jones property in a holler in Montrose, West Virginia. A crick meanders behind the barn, and the fence keeps in the cows that cousin Glen Jones raises.
Buck is an excellent trapshooter and enjoys shooting at the Silver Dollar Trap Club in Odessa, FL. In this work, Buck shoots Handicap from the 27 yard line. I'm sure he's smokin' 'em!
