This work is a watercolor weaving of two similar floral paintings, cut and arranged on a gold mat.
My inspiration comes from the wonderful watercolor weavings of artist Nancy Maas.
A Tiger Swallowtail lingers in a meadow of Queen Anne's Lace.
Gorgeous amaryllis growing at the side of a friend's home were the inspiration for this painting.
I really loved painting this still life with beautiful hibiscus that Jean had brought to the Guild for our Tuesday watercolor group. I added my Wedgwood Wild Strawberry pattern teapot, cup, and saucer with a Battenburg lace napkin in place, ready for afternoon tea.
My first orchid! It loves the light in my studio. The flower stem is so tall that I decided on this view for the composition and placed it against a Mexican tile background.
Magnolia was painted from life at the West Pasco Art Guild, and completed from photos of that magnolia; the branches and buds in the background are based on branches of our Little Gem magnolia tree in New Port Richey.
Magnolia was shown during the Alive with Summer exhibit at Brick City Center for the Arts in downtown Ocala, June 21 through August 28, 2004.
This watercolor was inspired by three silk bird-of-paradise stems that I used for a floral arrangement in my home. I tried to capture some of the exuberance and bold color of these exotic tropical blooms.
This painting was exhibited at Brick City Center for the Arts during the 2004 all-members fall exhibit of the Ocala Art Group.
