"How can there be a story that has no end?
The story of our family ~ it has no end."
| Old Music Box |

Our Richardson family history begins with Richard Richardson, a shoemaker who lived at Hounslow Heath, England, according to the writings of his granddaughter, Florence (Richardson) Heming. Family tradition is that he was from a wealthy family, but fell into disfavor because of his marriage. He and his wife, Hannah Dennis, have been found in the parish records of Hounslow and Isleworth in Middlesex, England, in the English vital records of Brentford District, which included Hounslow and in the British census. Richard was born about 1799 and died on 2 March 1876 in Brentford, Isleworth, Middlesex. A number of their children and grandchildren emigrated to Australia, South Africa, Canada and the United States. Herein is recorded all of their known descendants of four generations. I would be most pleased to accept any additional information of this family to include at this site. Please e-mail me or enter any comments into the Guest Book. Thank you very much for your interest.
The image above is of my father's family when they first immigrated to United States in 1915 and were settled at Palm Beach, Florida. Standing are Myrtle, Ben, baby Ivy, mother Martha and father Arthur Richardson. Sitting in front are Vic and my father, Teddie. All of the children are holding flowers; father Arthur has tucked his flower into his shirt and mother Martha has a strand of blooms across her bodice. The boys and their father are sporting straw hats. The family appears very happy indeed to be in sunny Florida. On the reverse of the original photograph is written in pencil "Lake Worth P.O., Palm beach, Florida. U.S.A., Sep 6th 1915, from Arthur & Martha to Agnes & Harry ~~" It is not known if the picture was received by Agnes & Harry Burchell in London. Later is scribed in pen "We are all living in Balto Md now. the rest of the family is on the other side We are all from England & from Canada - came from England. Ten, Ben, Victor & Myrtle ~ twins ~ & Ivy. We are all married and have familys" Linda (Filbert) Masters graciously provided the electronic image from her father's photograph collection of his grandparents. CLICK for larger image!
