"Groton, Conn. (AP) - Former President Richard Nixon took his first ride aboard a nuclear submarine yesterday.  He and Adm. Hyman G. Rickover left aboard the nuclear-powered submarine Cincinnati for an overnight cruise.

"Navy submarine base spokesman Lt. Cmdr. Camila Estrada said yesterday that Nixon had expressed an interest in nuclear-powered submarines in a recent conversation with Rickover.  As a result, she said, the Navy arranged a "familiarization and orientation cruise" for the former President.  She said she did not know where the submarine went."
