Here is the speed control opened up so you can see the assembly of components. I used a surface-mount MOSFET we had surplus at work. Note the 2 conductor connectors I used for input and output. I get these from Radio Shack or an auto parts store. I use these for all my battery connections (video camera/DAT/whatever...).
