126,300 miles - Front Brake Pads and New Battery

Replaced the front brake pads with Mintex pads from Interauto.

Also replaced battery with an AutoLite (?!) from Kragen, I decided to support the local shop.

Noticed that the windshield washer system isn't quite working correctly. I think there is a leak somewhere in the system near the driver side.

Next on the list is to bleed the brakes.

123K (I think) - Installed Alpine NVE-N851A Navigation System.

Purchased an NVE-851A and an Alpine standalone monitor. Since we already have an Alpine screen and MP3 CD Changer, the nav system just plugged right in.

There were a few challeneges involved with the installation. I needed to locate the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) and the reverese light. I ended up looking up the EWS wiring diagram from http://techinfo.toyota.com and paid the $10 for one day access.

VSS was wired into pin #20 at the cruise control module near the brake pedal. The reverse signal was wired to the left side reverse light.

Everything appears to be working correctly. One huge disturbance is that the softare (Smart Map Pro DVD v1.1) is from '00. The most updated software is v2.1 only available through Alpine for a fee of $300. Yuck.
