Bob Williams was born in Tempe, Arizona in 1959. He attended Mesa High School participating in Swimming and Wrestling. In 1977, Coach Williams was a State placer in Swimming and a State Champion Wrestler. In 1978, he attended Mesa Community College becoming NJCAA Wrestling All-American. In the summer of 1978 he traveled to Iran and competed throughout that country as part of a USA National Team. From 1979 to 1981, Coach Williams wrestled for Arizona State University. In 1981, he was a Pac-10 Runner up and a Team Captain. Coach Williams earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education at A.S.U. and a Masters Degree at the University of Phoenix. In 1987, Coach Williams became an Assistant Wrestling Coach under Head Wresting “Hall of Fame” Coach Ben Arredondo. In 1992, Coach Williams took over the program as Head Wrestling Coach. In the summers of 2003 and 2004 Coach Williams was the Head Wresting Coach for the Arizona National Freestyle & Greco Roman Duels Teams. The 2003 Team finished 8 th, which is All- American status. Coach Williams and Coach David DiDomenico both have coached the Mesa West Freestyle Wresting Club to back to back State Club Champions in 2004 and 2005.
Coach DiDomenico is in his 17 th year coaching. He has been a part of 7 Top 10 5A seasons, including two state runners-up. Twelve state champions, 43 state medalists and 2 All-Americans have been produced under his assistance and guidance. He has also coached 4 Arizona USA National Teams and 3 Arizona USA International Freestyle/Greco Teams, serving as head coach for the New Zealand and European teams. The squads were champions in three tournaments and runner up in a forth. DiDomenico is USA Wrestling Bronze Certified and is a former AZ/USA Board Member. DiDomenico has coached three Arizona club state grand championships. The Mesa West Club, under the guidance of Coaches DiDomenico and Bobby Williams, currently reign as two-time Arizona Club State Grand Champions. Coach D currently teaches history at Mesa High.
