 ABOUT MY PRACTICE:

My studio is located at 901 N.W. 62nd and is in the office building owned by psychotherapist Martha Baldwin Beveridge.   The studio is decorated to be pleasing to the eye and to have a relaxing atmosphere.   An adjoining bathroom and shower arrangement are available to my clients.   A hydrocolator is available for heat packs to begin the relaxation process for the muscles.

Unless requested otherwise, soft music will be played during your session to help you relax.  During the massage you will be fully draped with a sheet, both for modesty and for temperature control.  Only the area being currently worked is uncovered.  Heat packs are available if there is need to provide moist heat for relaxation of tightened muscles.

Each client is important to me as an individual and each massage session is tailored to meet the client's specific needs.  Relaxation massage, pregnancy massage and deep tissue work are available.  Relaxation and deep tissue work are usually combined during a session unless the client exclusively needs or requests one or the other.  When using both modalities, long, rhythmic, repetitive strokes are used for relaxation, combined with accupressure-like work to encourage tight muscles back to resting length.

Upon your arrival you will be asked to complete an intake sheet which provides me with some general information concerning your health, your reasons for coming in and your expectations for the session.  This sheet helps me design the massage session to meet your needs, and it helps me determine if there is any health reason massage would be  contraindicated for you.  The information given on this sheet is considered confidential in the same way information shared with any health professional would be.
