TACTICS-
the execution of strategy and actions taken during the game. You can have
a great plan, but you still need to execute it successfully and adapt
it according to what happens during the game.
Awareness. You have to constantly stay on top of what is going
on. If something isn't working out as planned, then you need to determine
why it isn't working and make some changes. If they keep hitting soft
easy shots over you, then is it because you aren't holding your defensive
position and you are creeping up to the net in anticipation of a short
shot? If you can't determine by yourself why something isn't working,
then ask your partner for their opinion.
Adapting. If you notice that the line shot is being left open because
they are covering the cut shot that you favor, then make the change and
take advantage of the open line shot. Once you are aware of what is going
on, then you need to make changes to what you are doing.
Execution. Put into action all the skills that you've honed from
the considerable practice and preparation that you have invested in improving
your game. Keep your concentration and focus on the game while you are
on the court. Work with your partner to make sure you execute your game
plan together and are working toward the same goal.
