Memory Basics
Some feats on this site require experience with a few basic memory
techniques. Here's where to learn and practice them before you
move onto the memory features:
Link System - This is the most basic technique, and
it helps to learn lists in order. Don't worry - it's surprisingly
simple. Story System - This is a minor modification of the
Link system, and it's very useful! Number Rhyme System - This is one of two simple ways
to remember numbers up to 10. Number Shape System - Just as simple as the Number
Rhyme System, this will also help you remember numbers up to
10. Alphabet System - If you need to remember something
by letter, rather than number, then try this. Calendar System - Need to remember something associated
with a particular month of the year? Here's the answer! Journey System - This is a basic method used since
the time of Ancient Greece. It involves remembering something
via a journey with which you're familiar. Loci System - This is a more powerful version of the
Journey System, and was also used by the Ancient Greeks! Major system (Peg System) - The Major System
is also called the Peg method because it helps you
remember numbers of any size by using numbers as if they were
pegs to hang memories on. This is more powerful and useful than
the Number Rhyme and Number Shape systems, as it deals with larger
numbers more efficiently. Dominic System - This is another great system from
remembering numbers easily, using images of celebrities! Binary Number System - How do you go about remembering
long strings of 1's and 0's? Here's how! Self-Enhancing Master Memory Matrix (SEM3)
- Used in conjunction with the Major System, this is a powerful
way to remember 10,000 things! If you add in the Link System,
you can remember 50,000 things or more! |
