Debuting
in 1992, Bottomline has brought together the talents and dedication of
some of San Diego's top musicians including Debbie Sierras on lead vocals,
Mike Sierras on guitar and vocals, Bruce Walker on keyboards and vocals,
Steve Tally on bass and vocals, and Michael Aguilar on drums. Having a
good time and playing fun music is what Bottomline is all about.
Bottomline produces not only
an exciting show to watch, but an energy that is felt throughout the audience
that makes you want to get up and move! The blend of electric and acoustic
guitars, keyboards, and a soulful vocal melody, gives them that popular
folk/rock sound widely heard on radio today.
On August 13th, 1996 Bottomline
released their first all original full length CD, "Alive", to a capacity
crowd at Fogerty's nightclub. The message conveyed throughout the album
is both positive and encouraging. "Each one of us has the ability to
be Alive but it’s your decision to truly become Alive". The CD is a
follow-up to their debuting EP, Vital Time, which showed a promising
future for the band as they began to develop a style of their own. The
band has already began to write songs for another CD which they plan
to start recording this winter.
Bottomline performs originals
and covers in many of San Diego's popular clubs. Performing hit songs
of the 70's, 80's, & 90's has gained them a large following throughout
San Diego. Whether it's Mike and Debbie acting out the famous Meatloaf
- Paradise by the Dashboard Lights, or the rock opera -Time Warp, or
Bruce's on stage antics during Green Day's Basket Case, Bottomline always
performs each song as though it were their own. But the support and
interest for their original songs is equal to and in some cases more
than that of their covers. Their song "Water's Edge", a celebration
of rebirth and not
giving up on life, was in regular rotation
on KUPR 95.7 during Coe Lewis's Locals Only show. The song "I Feel
So Alive", which combines funk & rock with dynamic vocals,
has been their dance hit in the clubs while "Apartment G"
and "The One for You" are popular listening songs.
With a nomination at the
1998 San Diego Music Awards, Bottomline has moved into the upper class
of Southern California rock bands. Don’t miss out on this up-and-coming
band from San Diego. Bottomline is "the bottom line".
