DVD XPRESS from ADS Tech

ADS elegant little black box makes short work of video projects. It not only looks good on a desk top, it gets the job done.  For those new to this, well this is a great way to get your feet wet in digital.  Getting material from VCR to the PC has never been easier. Plus, ADS picked decent software to make this a good combo.

“Could this be the best way to turn analog video into digital ?”

One of the biggest problems with new hardware and software is what to do with the old stuff.  Digital is definetly the way to go, however what does one do with the old analog material?

Prior to the digital revolution in camcorders, many were hi 8 and decidedly not digital. The same also holds true for VCR’s and assorted other analog devices.  While some new PC’s come equipped with the correct number of outlets to handle the transfer, not all PC’s have that ability.  The same holds true of camcorders. While there are some that can translate between televisions, VCR’s and digital PC’s, not all of them do.

The big selling point with DVD XPress is that it utilizes the latest in video conversion and filtering technology to reduce noise on old VHS tapes to produce the highest quality video. The program additionally offers exclusive “Audio-Lock” technology to provide perfect lip synch all the way through the capture, edit and disk burning process. These are nice little extras to have available, particular if you are new to all of this.

At one time having this type of configurability meant having to buy a card, insert into your PC and hope for the best. Believe it or not I have witnessed perfectly good cards not work with some machines.

ADS Tech has produced a solid no mess no fuss no stress solution with DVD Xpress. While they have various flavors of this device, they all share a great looking curved contemporary look, a decent software bundle and the ability to capture material from a wide variety of video sources.

Coming in at $ 145.00, this is a great solution for those that do not want to add yet another card to their PC or mess with the fuss of making all of those connections. For those that simply want to transfer data, this is about as painless as it gets.

Summation

Not a bad solution. ADS has done a respectable job of creating a good solid device and software combo that takes the pain out of transferring data.  While many PC’s  have this functionality built it, should you have a machine that does not, this is a great way to work around the issue of how to get television and legacy devices into your system.
