 Registry First Aid

This is about as user friendly as a Registry Cleaner can be. For those easily intimidated by under the hood windows operations, this is one very solid solution.

In addition, Rose software offers a Registry compactor as well. Rounding out the tool set, they have produced some very friendly pc software that is backward compatible with windows 95 through to windows XP

Windows XP has a number of utilities built in that have been much needed, but overlooked. The new disk scanner and the pop up blocker, curtsey of windows service pack 2, are all filling in important security and service options. The one feature missing from windows is an all purpose easy to use registry scanner and cleaner.

Residing within the registry is a detailed listing of what is on your pc and where it is. While you can readily access the registry, working with it requires a rather sophisticated understanding of windows. Mess around with it and delete a key and your entire operating system can turn to toast.

Naturally, you can leave it alone. Over time, a neglected registry can turn into an over blown overloaded depository of useless information.  Nothing can slow down or disrupt a pc faster than a bloated registry, or a corrupted one.

There are a number of tools on the market that offer to fix the problem. One of the best, and easily one of the more cautious is Registry First Aid.

If looking under windows intimidates you, this colorful fully featured program offers up a painless way to scan for registry issues.  One of the nice things about the program is that it encourages you to use the back up, recovery system in windows xp prior to making any changes to your registry.

As a cautionary step, Registry First Aid comes with a back up just in case you make a mistake and need to go back in time.  For new users and those wanting to learn more, the program offers information about each change and suggestions as to what to do and what not to do.  For those seeking an easy powerful solution, this is about as easy as it gets.

Suggestion

Registry First Aid is if nothing else a painless, relatively detailed program. Those intimidated by utilities and their complex functions will welcome the step by step help and the comprehensiveness of this product.  From my own experiences, I have seen it work wonders on systems that I would have given up for dead.  If you are new to this, and looking for a price point friendly solution to computing, this is a great way to go.
