Here is an old west author who used to have a cabin in Arizona near the Tonto Basin and Forest, on top of the Mogollon Rim. Here is just a few of his books, some have been made into movies also.
He not only wrote Novels, but he wrote stories for magizines and comics. Zane Grey was a GREAT Americian Western Author.
Here is another American West Author One of his favorite Families to write about was the Sackett's. Louis was a great Western Fiction writer and here is just a small sample of his works.

our wild wild west.
Our Cowboy authors
are just about the best.
From Louis L'Amore
to a man named Zane Grey.
They brought us the west
in stories they did convey.
So here's to the Cowboys
with all of the finesse.
Men right out of the saddle
in a way they did impress.
For their characters were hero's
to many of us readers.
And with their cowboy code
we have become the new leaders.
So thank you old friends
for all of your stories.
