With the grin on his face
and the sparkle in his eye.
He's my buddy forever
which I'll never deny.

He listens to my stories
and laughs at all my jokes.
If I ask him to do something
there's no need for me to coax.

It seems at this age
I can't do any wrong.
For he is only five
and this won't last to long.

For Grandpa is tops
as he lets me do my tricks.
He knows life will be better
once he's grown to be six.

Grandpa is so proud
of all that he can do.
If he gets the chance
he'll tell everything to you.

Papa's little buddy
my best friend forever.
Because he's so smart
I think he is quite clever.

As he looks up to me
I must watch what I say.
For if I'm not careful
it is him that will pay.

I'd give up my life
to protect him from any danger.
And as he gets older
I hope he won't become a stranger.

The time we spend together
these days that we have now.
Will last forever in my Heart
of this I most solemnly vow.
