As I lay back and close my eyes,
my journey has now transpired.
I go back to days of joy,
with my thoughts that have inspired.
A gentle feeling comes over me,
as I meet my childhood friends again.
We continue from where we left off,
in our stories, and games sustained.
Nicknames ring out as we run and shout,
and laughter carries through the trees.
Times like this makes me homesick,
for these feelings that does appease.
A secret pack with a solemn oath,
that we'll never forget these days.
Not even in the heat of battle,
or walking through a misty haze.
For these times will live forever,
in the far reaches of my mind.
So when I feel lost or all alone,
I just lay back and unwind.
Memories of times gone by,
makes bad times seem alright.
Then all my present troubles,
seem so small and trite.
For now my friends and I,
can still enjoy some time together.
As it is the past or present
for which we care not whether.
