Yes there comes a time when I must say
my life's been good, day after day.
Children all raised and now on their own
I speak to them often, by way of a phone.
Grandkids now are my pride and joy
my daughter's last was a cute little boy.
I know their smart as they take after me
with eyes so blue they resemble the sea.
My wife and I are almost ready to retire
and traveling abroad is our biggest desire.
Seeing friends and relatives we never met
traveling the world in a big shinny jet.
Going back to where our roots began
Ireland, Sweden, Germany, and England.
McCusker, Curran, Anderson an Harre
from wherever they came I want to go there.
Yes life has been good, I still have my health
my family and friends are my greatest wealth.
So as the pace of my life begins to slow down
I'll have stories to tell that won't leave a frown.
Yes it comes a time when I must say

Now taking it easy is always allowed
