'Twas many years ago
when dad marched off to war.
To keep our country free
like others did before.

He doesn't say to much
about the sights he seen.
For he was a young man
about the age nineteen.

Then when dad returned
he got himself a bride.
Then he raised us kids
to have a lot of pride.

The freedoms that we have
is because of men like him.
They never stopped their fightin'
even when it looked real grim.

My Mother and my brothers
all love what dad has done.
Now it's time to thank him
for he'll never be outdone.
