It was on July 4th in the year 1776,
that we claimed our independence.
That's when Democracy was born,
with our country hero's in attendance.

Adams, Jefferson along with Mr. Franklin
signed their names to that declaration.
On this day's celebration we honor them
they gave us the start of this great nation.

John Hancock signed his name real large
so the poor sighted King could read his name.
Now when signing documents, you put your John Hancock,
he never knew signing his name would be his claim to fame.

With fireworks & pic-nics, and party's in every town
our celebrations last all day, throughout the USA.
With Flags and bands in parades in all our cities
America is proud, and our patriotism is on display.

But let us remember those who died for us
so we could live in this land of the free.
All across this great country of ours
From Alaska to the hills of Tennessee.
