I remember, I remember
those days from long ago.
Old victrolas and television
how'd they set my heart aglow.

Warm evenings on the front porch
with neighbors stopping by.
Popcorn and big red apples
'tis where my heartstrings lie.

Saturday matinees I recall
Hoot Gibson and old Tom Mix.
Gene Autry and Gabby Hayes
gave us our weekly kicks.

April showers brought summer flowers
and lazy days so idly spent.
Country roads with open fields
meadows sweet with clover scent.

Under spreading chestnut trees
with picnics in the park.
Basket dinners on the ground
those memories left there mark.

There's much joy in remembering
those happy days of yore.
With friends from my childhood
that my memories let me store.

I remember, I remember
those memories will never part.
Those dear old days of long ago
are the touchstones to my heart.
