My family tree a patchwork quilt,
with different pieces made as one.
Made from every shape and size,
so it will never come undone.
As the pieces fit together
they all tell a little story.
About where they come from
now displayed in all its glory.
My patchwork quilt has grown
since when it started long ago.
Some stand out so proudly
with the honor they bestow.
Some are pale and hidden
so as they don't cause attention.
But still they add to my story
of which I'm still proud to mention.
Together they blend an eternity
into a quilt so finely made.
This quilt of many pieces
and the parts that they all played.
