Les, Mike, and Frank,

You guys did a great job. I'm glad I was a small part of it. Keep up the good work.

Hey Classmate,

This has got to be one of the funniest stories I have ever read. I laughed my ass off. Way to keep that 83 spirit alive! I'll pass this along to the 25th Company mailing list. They will get a kick out of your story. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Guys,

I am the webmaster for the NJ Parents club. I added a link to your site to our home page www.usna-njpc.org Great story, the BGO trainees from NJ were telling us about it the minute they returned home. You guys are legend!

Sir,
That was S.H.

Dear Sir/Ma'm,

I appreciate your thoughtful recognition to us. It was very motivating to see someone on our side.

Thank you,

Very Respectfully,

I thought the banner was great, and it was really encouraging during the summer. BZ on keeping up a tradition. Banners don't really detract from the visual appearance of the yard in my opinion, but just add to it. If visitors come and see banners they just have a better appreciation of tradition here.

We all thought the BGO banner was awesome. It felt good to now others were willing to go on recon missions just to make us feel better.
Thanks again!

Thanks for the morale boost. I had no idea you tried to hang it in T-court. Ballzy-move! Thanks again, and take care.

Sir/Ma'am

I thought that the banner was very inspirational to us. It showed that the older classes still knew how to have a little fun.

The banner on the pep field did indeed boost my morale. The whole story strengthens my pride in joining a group with so much tradition. Thanks.

Well Gentlemen,
Like you said... Mission Accomplished. We are very appreciative and motivated by the Banner. Hopefully we will get the chance to salute the classes of '70, '83, and '90 in our own Special Way. Once again thank you for the support.

Thanks for the whole story, its sounds like a lot of fun! I had no idea that banner had such a history. It was really great to see it out there on the pep field that morning, I remember having my spirits really lifted, just by the thought of the Blue and Gold Officers admiring what we were doing.

Sincerely,
Joseph Spence

Gentlemen: (I use the term loosely):

Your Shipmate article and website are great! Although it is clear you are criminals, I am proud to see such enthusiasm among the old guys. Being a Blue and Gold Officer is a wonderful way to get the word out about USNA. My son Ross (Class of 2007) sent me your e-mail.

Gentlemen,

I have not laughed so completely all summer and to do so over the antics of former mids who were just trying to have a little fun. Thanks for taking the time to honor the hard work and effort our sons & daughters put forth this summer and will continue to extend as part of this proud tradition! This story is worth saving and re-telling again & again, oh yeah, don't worry about the obviousness of your criminal behavior, and the fact that is was so very public!!!! Daytime? That's guts sirs! We still love you! Keep supporting 2007! They need you!

Hi,

My name is Kristin Acton and I am a midshipman 4th class at the United States Naval Academy. My dad sent me the very amusing article about the BGO banner activities. He graduated in '83 and was also at BGO Training this summer.

I wanted to let you know that all of us plebes truly appreciate all the hard work you put into our development as midshipmen. This summer, when I saw the banner on the PEP field, my face lit up with a smile. I was quickly "locked up" by my detailer, but it was worth it! I remember it was a particularly demanding day of PEP, but I could always look at the sign and think about all the people who support us back home. Thank you for your continued efforts to keep up the spirit of the brigade!

Very Respectfully,

To BGOs:
I remember that morning so very well. My company mates and I were having a very bad morning (running late, being bad plebes, blah blah), and we looked up and saw the sign and started exchanging glances and smiles. It truly gave us a bit of an up that we so desperately needed that day. Thank you all for the gesture, it was truly appreciated.
Very Respectfully,

That was very motivatial, Thank you for all of the support given to our class, it's always good to know that someone else understands what we are going though, and is behind us 100%. On behalf of '07, I thank you very much.

Gentlemen,
Your story of bravery and devotion to duty motivated me. As a matter of fact, late at night/early in the morning before the first football game of the year I went out with some of my classmates and hung a motivational sign from a billboard in town--in such a location that everyone could see it. The hard part for us was getting 12 guys off the yard unnoticed. I am Happy to know that there are motivational alumni of this institution like yourselves. As PT was about the only thing I could do right over plebe summer (I am terrible at memorizing rates.), your sign had special significance for me. No, gentlemen, I salute you.
