After the success of the "Cutie Store" expansion, local business woman "Cutie" decided the town folks needed a really special place to buy their groceries. Cutie wanted a grocery store that transcended the standard drudgery of picking out and purchasing weekly fun items. Also, such "vanilla" grocery stores were beginning to be pushed out by on-line vendors such as the "LEGO Shop-At-Home-Grocer."
Cutie's ingenious idea was to build a grocery store that people would actually want to visit rather than have to visit. They key to accomplishing this was to create a theme-park like atmosphere that was fresh and entertaining. The architecture of the store is modeled after a Bavarian chalet. The bunnies on the roof are electronically animated and actually talk to customers (using a special video hookup to an operator). The store is surrounded by picturesque gardens on either side. Inside, various audio-visual displays are used to excite customers about the special deals for the week.
Of course, all this "entertainment" doesn't come cheap. Cutie's prices are about 50% higher than those of competing markets. However, since LEGO City 2 citizens are almost universally wealthy, the cost difference is irrelevant. Cutie's Grocery Adventure has been a huge success and a franchise operation is planned for the future.
