McDonalds
A four-story McDonalds restaurant welcomes the viewer to the city. The two grates on the top story cover large fans. These fans have a dual purpose. First of all, they help to clear the cooking areas of smoke and other contaminants. Secondly, they force the grease laden smoke out onto the streets attracting more and more customers craving their burger fix.
LEGO Mutual Savings and Loan
The red sky-scraper on the right of the photograph is the LEGO Mutual Savings and Loan building. The financial leverage of this institution has been critical in the development of the city.
Because the citizens of LEGO City 2 are extremely wealthy, this institution has seen phenomenal growth. The company has started giving heavily to charity (especially the Society of Those with Too Few LEGO Sets) in order to rid itself of some of its excessive profits.
Train Stations
An older, Victorian era, train station (suspiciously similar to the one at Disneyland) was built in the front of the city. Given the fast pace of commerce in the modern, 21st century, the old station just wasn't cutting it. It has been preserved for posterity and serves as a popular tourist attraction. The new train terminal is a mass of building nestled in the center of the dual layout. The yellow office building forms the main entrance to the new station. A walkway leads to the dual-track platform (barely visible on the lower-right) which is topped by a tall black building. This building serves as housing for the railway workers.
