Ogel's "Family" Chemical Supply

This is the headquarters for Ogel's Family Chemical Supply company.

The "Family" in the company name refers not to the fact that it is run by the Ogel family (Ogel is first name of the founder).  Instead "Family" picks up the trendy marketing technique of trying to integrate the word "Family" into the product/company name to make it sound more friendly.  This technique is used my many car dealerships, so why not use it for a chemical company?

The company makes various "family" products including hair spray, toothpaste, weed killer, and rat poison.  The weed killer and rat poison sell quite well, but other products such as hair spray aren't too popular.  This is probably due to the company logo, a skeleton head, that is imprinted on all "family" products.

The company's biggest seller is called "Zombie-Doze."  Despite the unpleasant name and "skull" picture on the front, this product is wildly successful as it puts children into a zombie-like state for exactly 4 hours.  The product has been tested over the last 10 years and found to be completely safe and effective even on small babies.  The company is flooded with letters from tired parents thanking the company for the product that is finally allowing them to get some rest.

Despite its successes, the company is still viewed with suspicion by the Bricktopia citizens.  The mayor originally refused to allow the company a building permit.  However, after an anonymous contribution to the Mayor's re-election fund, there was a change in heart.  The mayor agreed to allow a permit on the outskirts of the city.

This picture shows the front of the building in its construction yard.  The building was later hauled by giants to its final location at the edge of the city (see below).

This shot shows another view of the building.  Several people have wondered why a chemical company needs so many communications antennas on its building.  The company response is that these are required to keep in communications with remote factories where the chemicals are actually made.  For some suspicious reason, phone lines are not sufficient for this task.

The architecture of the building is a modified version of the standard "glass box" commercial style.  The primary black box containing the bulk of the building is framed by various red brick pillars.

At the bottom of these pillars are arches that overlook the company garden.  The beautiful flowers here show off the great power of the company's fertilizer products.  Unfortunately, the smell in the garden is a nauseating blend of animal manure, ammonia, rotten eggs, and Brasso.  There are some that claim that the plants are made from silk and plastic as no real plants could possibly survive in such an environment.

This shot shows off the top part of the building.

The decorative, curved red and black molding can be seen in this shot.  This molding breaks up the boxy look of the structure.

At the top, one can see the array of communications equipment.

This picture was taken from helicopter and shows some unusual inhabitants at the top of the building.  On the balcony is an all-black figure with a gold helmet on.  This is rumored to be "Ogel,'" the company's founder.  Perhaps his wealth has given to certain eccentricities of dress?   The individual behind Ogel is even more disturbing.  This individual seems to have covered his face in white powder.  Is this the result of some experiment gone awry?

Here is a picture showing the final location of the company building.  One can see that it is isolated from the main part of the city by the railroad tracks.
