| This is
the Bricktopia Police Headquarters and "Re-Education" center.
The concept behind the Bricktopia police force is much different than the police force in Lego City 2. The Lego City 2 police force pursued fake criminals to make citizens feel that there was evil in the world to balance the good. Unfortunately, this scheme began to backfire. So much media attention was given to the "actor-criminals" of LEGO City 2 that some real citizens, bored with their perfect existence, decided to turn to a life of real crime. They lusted after the excitement and attention afforded to such criminals and endeavored to commit more and more crimes. The lavish LEGO City 2 police complex was seen as a "palace" to these people and staying there was an ultimate goal. In fact, since the prison was designed for actors, it was quite comfortable and pleasant. The police force really had no way of dealing with an ever growing population of real prisoners. When these prisoners were released, they immediately committed more crime. Because of this "glorification of wrong-doing," the population now contained a sizable number of criminals with more turning to a life of crime all the time. Thus, the LEGO City 2 Police force had completely failed, and in fact, introduced a terrible new problem to the citizens. A completely new approach has been tried in Bricktopia. |

| The
Bricktopia Police department keeps a low profile, with a much less ostentatious
building. In fact, the "police" sign if barely visible on
the upper half of the building. The high-tech weaponry of the LEGO
City 2 police complex is no longer necessary. Criminals' main goal
is media attention so the police simply monitor the airwaves and go
directly to the criminal (who typically makes himself readily available to
maximize media attention).
One prisoners are caught, they are placed in a barren holding cell with absolutely nothing to do. Every day, they are forced to attend the "Chapel of Eternal Boredom" at the top of the building. Here, they suffer sermons for 8 hours a day. They are tied to their seats so they can't move. The boredom suffered from this torture is said to be so extreme that many prisoners have attempted to commit suicide rather than serve out their sentence. Furthermore, no "re-educated" prisoner, released back into the city, has EVER committed another crime. When asked to comment on why this might be, a former bank robber, Joe ABS, commented "The excitement of crime is short. The suffering in the Chapel of Eternal Boredom is a fate worse than Hell itself. I would much rather live out my "normal" life than risk the torture of that "Chapel" again." |

| This shot
shows more architectural detail of the building itself.
Although explicitly designed as "plain," the architect insisted on adding some decorative elements. The style is a blend of neo-classical, gothic, and modern elements. |

shot showing the top of the building.
In the center is the "Chapel of Eternal Boredom." The four round cylinders are massive air conditioning units. These are used to keep the air inside the chapel and prisoner cells freezing cold. It has been found that this makes life a bit more unpleasant and it keeps the prisoners awake during the "services." As an aside, this excessive use of air conditioning has been criticized by the power company and various environmental groups. However, these complaints were quickly squelched after leaders were given a special one-day "visit" to the "Chapel of Eternal Boredom." |
